Customize Invoice Template
FatturaSmart allows you to customize the appearance of your PDF invoices to make them more professional and consistent with your brand identity. You can choose the primary color, graphic template, and typography font.
What can you customize?
The available customization options are:

Real-time preview: As you modify settings, you’ll immediately see how your invoice will look thanks to the automatic preview.
Accessing the settings
- Log in to FatturaSmart
- Click on Profile in the sidebar menu
- Select PDF Customization
Choosing the color
The primary color is used for headers, borders, and other graphic elements of the invoice.
- In the Color section, click on the color picker
- Choose your desired color from the palette
- Alternatively, enter the hexadecimal code directly (e.g.,
#06b6d4)
Tip: Use colors from your logo or brand identity for a consistent and professional look.
Choosing the template from the gallery
The template determines the layout and arrangement of elements in the PDF invoice. In the Template section you’ll find a gallery: one card per template, with a live preview of the invoice rendered with your current color and font, the template name, a chip with the kind of business it’s designed for, and a short description.
Click a card to select the template. The seven available templates:

Always-faithful previews: the gallery thumbnails re-render when you change color or font, so you compare templates with your own style already applied.
Choosing the font
The font affects the readability and typographic style of the invoice.
- In the Font section, open the dropdown menu
- Select your preferred font
- The preview immediately shows the result
Advice: Choose readable and professional fonts. Avoid overly elaborate fonts that could compromise data readability.
Hiding columns from the PDF
You can hide the Quantity and Unit Price columns from the products/services table in your PDF invoices. This is useful for flat-rate services or consulting work where per-unit pricing isn’t relevant.
- In the Column visibility section, you’ll find two toggles:
- Hide quantity — removes the “Quantity” column from the table
- Hide unit price — removes the “Unit Price” column from the table
- Enable one or both toggles based on your needs
- The preview updates automatically to show you the result
Note: This setting applies to all invoice templates. The Description, Total, and VAT columns are always visible.
Saving your changes
After choosing your preferences:
- Check the preview on the right side of the screen
- If you’re satisfied, click the Save button
- The message “Settings saved” will appear
Note: The Save button is only active when you’ve modified at least one setting compared to the current configuration.
Adding your company logo
Your company logo is not configured in the PDF Customization section, but in the Profile Settings.
How to upload the logo
- Go to Profile → Settings
- In the Large Logo section, click Upload large logo
- Select a PNG or JPG file (maximum 3 MB)
- Click Save at the bottom of the page
Logo types
FatturaSmart supports two logos:

Preview: When you upload a new logo, you’ll see a preview alongside the current logo. The new logo will only be saved when you click “Save”.
Invoice preview
The preview in the PDF Customization section shows how an invoice will look with the current settings:
- Updates automatically as you modify settings
- Shows a sample invoice with all elements
- Allows you to evaluate colors, fonts, and layout together
Loading time: The preview updates after a brief 200ms pause from your changes, to avoid too many requests while typing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which invoice templates does FatturaSmart offer?
Seven templates: Classico, Minimal and Medico, plus Elegante (classic letterhead for professional firms), Moderno (bold document number, modern and airy), Aziendale (corporate header with striped table) and Studio Medico (soft panels for medical practices). You pick them from a gallery where each card shows a live preview with your color and font.
Do the changes apply to already issued invoices?
No. Customizations only apply to new invoices you will issue. Invoices already sent to the Tax System retain the appearance they were generated with.
Can I have different templates for different profiles?
Yes. Each business profile has its own customization settings. If you manage multiple companies, you can configure a different look for each one.
Does the color affect readability?
The color is mainly applied to decorative elements and headers. The main text always remains readable in black on a white background.
Can I hide the quantity and unit price columns?
Yes. In the Column visibility section you'll find two toggles: you can hide quantity, unit price, or both. Hidden columns are removed from all future PDF invoices across all available templates; already issued invoices are not affected.
Should the logo have a transparent background?
It's recommended but not required. PNG files with transparent backgrounds integrate better into the invoice layout.
